We collect only what you choose to send us, plus the minimum needed to keep the site working and free of abuse.
Forms. When you use our join, volunteer, or contact forms, we collect the name and email address you provide, your phone number if you choose to give one, and the message you write. These are stored in our database and emailed to the organization inbox so an officer can respond.
Anti-spam signal. Along with a form submission we store a one-way, salted cryptographic hash of your IP address. This is not your IP address and cannot be reversed back into one. It exists only to detect repeated automated submissions.
Community poll. If you vote in a poll, we store your choice, a one-way salted hash of your IP address so the same person cannot vote twice, and the broad region reported by our hosting provider. We do not collect your name or email when you vote.
Cookies. This site sets no cookies for ordinary visitors. A single session cookie is set only for administrators who log in to manage the site.
We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracking or profiling script on this site.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not share it with candidates, campaigns, vendors, or data brokers for their own marketing.
We do not attempt to identify you across other websites, and we do not build advertising profiles.
A few services necessarily see your IP address simply because they deliver part of the page to your browser. We keep this list as short as we can.
Cloudflare hosts this site and provides its security and content delivery. All traffic passes through it.
Cloudflare Turnstile runs a privacy-respecting check before a poll vote is accepted, to stop automated ballot stuffing.
YouTube loads only if you play a video, and we use the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie domain.
Google Maps loads on our About page to display the Illinois Federation of Republican Women club locator.
Email notifications from our forms are delivered through Cloudflare Email Routing to the organization inbox.
This site is rate limited. If a visitor repeatedly trips those limits in a way consistent with attack or abuse, such as brute-forcing the administrator login or flooding a form, the originating IP address may be reported to a security service used to identify abusive sources, and an alert may be emailed to our officers.
This applies only to abusive traffic. Ordinary browsing, form submissions, and poll voting do not trigger it.
Form submissions remain in our system until an officer removes them. Poll records are kept in aggregate for as long as the poll is displayed.
You may ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the contact form on this site, or write to the organization inbox, and tell us what you would like done.
Because we collect so little, in most cases the only record we hold is the message you sent us.
This site is intended for adults interested in civic and political participation. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
